Better late than never! We found our Steal Your Fest show from summer (August) 2012 up on Archive.org. That was a great time, and a fun event. Look for it next year.
Derek DeLong – New Bassist
We’re excited to have Derek on board. Here’s our Top reasons -
- He’s been playing bass since he was a kid
- He’s been in a barbershop quartet
- He might secretly be Spiderman (I mean, look at that photo…)
- He’s a drunkard of fine beers (just like us)
- He gets the whole jam thing
- It’s easy to remember his name (same as the old bassist)
- He’s the only one who answered our ad
Kidding on the last point, but Derek is adding great ideas to our jams. We’re excited to keep on playing together, starting with our new kickoff at Champions on July 21st.

Did you catch our acoustic show at The Hard Bean? In true rock n’ roll spirit, we gave the “unplugged” thing a shot without even a rehearsal. We think it worked.
Derek Is Leaving…
It’s with a heavy heart that we announce Derek, our cuddly bassist, is leaving The Heard, in body only. He’s still with us in spirit and may do guest appearances. He played a huge role in our growth this last year. But our brother and friend has a ton of great songs and a lot more music to share. Follow him.
